Atlantic Bassmasters owes its very existence to six friends who got together and formed a fresh water fishing club called 'The G-Team Fresh Water Anglers".  While we enjoyed fishing for bass, none of us had a boat and so were forced to fish from shore. That didn't stop us, we held 'Walk Around' tournaments on the New York City watershed system.  We used score cards to mark down the bass we caught, measuring them before releasing them.  A length to weight system was utilized to convert the length to weight.

We were diversified, fishing for other species such as Northern Pike on the St Lawrence River, Steelhead and Salmon on the Salmon River, and Walleye on the Mohawk.  Some of us still fish for these 'exotics', but not like the old days when we were young. I miss those days when all that mattered was having a good time with friends and catching some fish.  Lord help you if you didn't, because these guys would really let you have it.....Here is to you, Jimmy, Eric, Dom, Sal, and Dennis my brother.  May the memories of the G-Team stay with us always.
